Small Animal Vet Required

Market hall vets is a mixed animal practice with 13 vets split over two main departments, 5 vets on our small animal team. We are at present looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed vet to join the small animal team. Our vets are supported in their work by a nursing team comprising 3 RVN's and 4 Trainee nurses/ANA's. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, an appropriate 'bedside manner' as well as the ability to empathise with our clients. Patient care is our number one priority and the surgery is well equipped with all the usual items including scanner, digital x-ray and endoscope.

This will be a challenging and rewarding position for anyone who enjoys a vibrant and dynamic environment. Our customers and patients make the job what it is and every one of them is unique. The team you will be working with is very friendly, supportive and forward thinking.  Favourable (solely small animals) out of hours rota with full support from nurses.

For those of you looking to move to the area you will find both the country and coast both on the door step. With both the gorgeous Pembrokeshire coast line (http://www.visitpembrokeshire.com/explore-pembrokeshire/coast-path/) and the Brecon beacons national park (http://www.breconbeacons.org/) a stones throw away. For those who like visiting cities Cardiff makes for a nice days shopping excursion.  Applications and enquires: Sarah Practice Manager on 01994 230451 or email jobsmhvg@btconnect.com

Farm Animal Vet Required

Market Hall Vets is a mixed practice looking for a vet to join our enthusiastic team of 9 progressive farm animal vets. Our practice is based in St Clears, Carmarthenshire which is one of the fastest growing dairy areas of the country and we also have a good mixture of beef and sheep work. Our work involves regular weekly and fortnightly routines, herd/flock health planning, on farm mastitis investigations, bull fertility testing, disease monitoring and the usual farm emergency call outs. We also use Interherd and Herd Companion to generate fertility, cell count and Johne’s disease reports. The position would suit a new graduate or an experienced vet who would like to develop their own expertise in farm animal medicine and advisory work with the full back up of a supportive team of experienced farm animal vets. We currently have a 1 in 4 rota with two farm vets on call at any one time.

Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire are areas of exceptional beauty with plenty of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. The Pembrokeshire coast national park and the Brecon Beacons are close at hand for walking and the stunning coast line is ideal for days out to the beach. The M4 provides easy access to the rest of the country, making St Clears a very accessible destination.
