Out of Hours

Our small animal vets are available between 8 am-7 pm on weekdays and 8 am-6 pm on weekends and bank holidays.

However we also know that your pet can become ill or suffer accidents at any time. To make sure you have access to high quality care at night we have chosen to partner with Vets Now, the leading national provider of out of hours care.

The team at Vets Now are always there when we are closed, so you can be assured that you and your pet will have a vet and nurse on hand, even at four in the morning. Their fully qualified staff will provide free advice over the phone and discuss whether you need to take your pet into their clinic for immediate treatment. Please don’t hesitate to call them if you’re at all concerned.

  • Free advice line available at any time of night
  • High spec equipment available for emergency and critical care cases
  • Always available in an emergency
  • Fully staffed practice all through the night with vets and nurses who only work the night shifts.

By using Vets Now to cover our out of hours night time emergencies it enables our vets and nurses to rest at night so we can continue providing the high quality care during the day that we pride ourselves on. Our vets and nurses continue to care for all in-patients at the St. Clears practice during the nights and at weekends.

Vets Now take over from us when we close in the evenings. In the event of an emergency just ring our normal number 01994 230451 – if its outside our working hours you will be transferred through to Vets Now.

Please be aware that because of the nature of out of hours emergencies, a night-time appointment will be more expensive than seeing a vet during day time hours. Vets Now will discuss this with you at the time of the appointment and before commencing any treatment. Please consider pet insurance to give you peace of mind that your pet will be able to receive the best possible care 24 hours a day.

We will pick up and transport any patients which require admission at Vets Now back to St. Clears in the morning in our animal ambulance. This is a free of charge service.
